Overview
Students will cover important aspects of
Ancient Rome and will conduct research using their social studies textbook
and the Internet as their main resources. Through the process of creating
brochures, students will demonstrate critical thinking and analytic skills
as well as an understanding for the subject matter. Remember,
this unit plan can be adapted to the study of any ancient civilization!
Objective
Students will:
- Create travel brochures. I call this our "Ancient Rome Itinerary."
- Provide historical evidence to reflect our studies within their travel brochure.

Lesson 1: Create a Travel Brochure
Culminating Activity
Our class will tour Ancient Rome and every student will have a chance to "guide" the class to an important destination or conduct a class presentation on the topic of his or her travel brochure.
