Bio

William Durbin is continually fascinated by the many ways in which writing can help people grow and learn. William, who gets some of his best ideas from his wife and fellow teacher, Barbara, has taught 4th grade through college and enjoys working with kids of all ages. He enjoys sharing his ideas about writing and literature and often appears at writing conferences, language and reading associations, and schools and libraries. He has supervised writing projects for the National Council of Teachers of English and Middlebury College's Bread Loaf School of English.

Other than reading and writing, William enjoys golf and canoeing and these activities have inspired him to write biographies on Tiger Woods and Arnold Palmer as well as two voyageur books.

Born in Minneapolis, William and his wife have lived on Lake Vermilion in the canoe country of Northeastern Minnesota for the past 20 years. They have two children, Jessica and Reid.
