Bio

A writer and full time mom, Natasha Friend's work has appeared in Family Fun magazine and Chicken Soup for the Volunteer's Soul.  Her first title, Perfect, won the Milkweed Prize for Children's Literature and was a Book Sense Pick.

Natasha received her B.A. in Psychology from Bates College, and earned her M.A. in English at Clemson University. Most recently she served as director of the Brimmer and May Summer Camp in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Natasha enjoys singing, song-lyric writing, sports, and plans to write more books in the future.

Natasha's newest title, Lush, boldly delves into the tumultuous life and mind of a thirteen-year-old girl whose father is an alcoholic.  After having witnessed the effects of this disease firsthand, "I wanted to write a book about a girl dealing with that proverbial ‘elephant in the living room'," she said.

Natasha currently resides in Massachusetts with her husband, Erik, and sons, Jack and Ben.
