Bio
Nancy White Carlstrom was born on August 4, 1948 in Washington, Pennsylvania. She is the author of more than 50 books for children, including the popular Jesse Bear books, inspired by her son. She draws inspiration from her 18 years living in Alaska, volunteer experiences in Africa and Haiti, and raising sons Jesse and Joshua.
Ms. Carlstrom graduated with a degree in education from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. She taught first and second grade students in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Gloucester, Massachusetts. She owned and managed The Secret Garden Children's Bookshop in Seattle, Washington.
