Bio

Mitzi Miller's experience in publishing began at the start of the millennium as a Sales and Marketing Assistant for CMP Media, a leading company in trade publications. Determined to find a career where her passion for writing could be realized, she left CMP and accepted an unpaid editorial internship at Honey magazine. Shortly after joining the Honey editorial staff, Mitzi began writing a monthly girl-around town column, "Road Trippin'."  Readers quickly grew addicted to her quirky, fun-filled adventures, such as speed dating, learning how to surf in Hawaii and spending time as an enlisted soldier in the United States Army's boot camp. Ms. Miller remained at Honey for two years during which she not only became the Entertainment Editor, received an honorable mention from the National Association of Black Journalists for her full-length feature story on domestic violence amongst young urban women, ‘Killing Me Softly', and thanks to the popularity of her column, she became the face of Honey magazine.

In 2003, Ms. Miller departed Honey and joined the staff of Jane Magazine as an Associate Editor. Where in addition to her monthly sex column, she frequently contributed to the entertainment section of the magazine with top celebrity interviews as well as quirky hyper feature stories such as: "Mitzi Lives Like a Privileged White Woman For a Week" and "How To Date 8 Guys At Once," which was favorably mentioned in a Washington Post article.

Adding to her accomplishments are Ms. Miller's consecutive book deals.  The first book, The Angry Black Woman's Guide to Life (Plume/ Dutton) was released in April 2004 to rave reviews in The New York Times, Boston Globe and Newsweek. Her second book, The Vow (Harper Collins) was released in October 2005 and also met with outstanding reviews in The New York Times, Entertainment Weekly, Essence Magazine, Glamour Magazine, excerpted in the March 2006 issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, as well as being earning a coveted spot on the Essence magazine Bestseller List.

Since leaving Jane to pursue exciting new writing and television opportunities, Ms. Miller continues to have reoccurring appearances on many of VH1's humorous list shows including Best Week Ever. She has also appeared on ABC's top rated morning show, Good Morning America, The Food Network and performed in the 2006 annual benefit production of Eve Ensler's award winning stage play, "The Vagina Monologues" at the Apollo Theater. In addition to being a Contributing Writer for Essence magazine and freelancing for Elle (U.K), Vibe, and Upscale magazines, Ms Miller sits on the Board of Directors for the youth empowerment non-profit, Black Girls Rock, Inc. and lives in New York City.
