A Good Place to Live

I am glad to write about Tennessee because it has so many good things to write about.
I live in Bristol and this weekend was Rhythm and Roots. The yearly festival has food, games, and a lot of music. Rhythm and Roots is held on State Street, which is in both Tennessee and Virginia. Bluegrass and country singers come from all over the world. I go to the festival every year.
Another great thing about Tennessee is its beauty. Near where I live is a forest with a clear, freshwater lake. Sometimes my sister, my mom, and I jog around the lake.
There are many lush forests in Tennessee. I love to hike in the mountains. My favorite part about mountains is that they keep bad storms out like tornadoes and hurricanes. We miss a lot of bad weather and enjoy four beautiful seasons.
Tennessee is the birthplace of country music. Country music is influenced by Celtic music and the Irish who settled in this area. The Irish came here because Tennessee’s green landscape reminded them of their homeland.
The most popular sporting event in Tennessee is the Bristol Motor Speedway. The Bristol Speedway is referred to as the World’s Fastest Half Mile. The proceeds from tickets to the race are donated to children’s charities. The races are fun to watch. The cars race by at the speed of lightning.
The best thing about Tennessee is the people. They are friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. I guess that is why they call Tennessee the volunteer state.
I think Tennessee is a good place to grow up because of the strong values and work ethic of its people. There is even a sign over my city that says “Bristol: a Good Place to Live.” I guess that sign says it all.
