JANE YOLEN is the author of many fine books for young people, including "Not One Damsel in Distress: World Folktales for Strong Girls," stories that "sing and soar in Yolen's supple language," according to "Booklist." She lives in western Massachusetts and Scotland.
KAREN LEE SCHMIDT is the illustrator of several picture books, including "What Do You Love?, "which "School Library Journal "called "rollicking and warm." She lives in New York City.
