Gowtham Balaji lives in New Jersey and was born in 1998.

•    In 2008, Gowtham won a Writing Excellence Award from his school district. One of his pieces has also appeared in an English-language newspaper in India.

•    Gowtham plays badminton and basketball, as well as the saxophone and piano.

•    When he isn’t playing sports or practicing his music, Gowtham likes to wind down with a good book or family movie.

•    Gowtham is a student council representative and student vice president.
