Gayle Berthiaume
Bio
For 35 years, Gayle has taught K–2, Title 1, and gifted clustered students in Becker, Minnesota. Her students use technology daily and enjoy using their class Web site for Internet inquiries, to display their work, and to communicate with their parents. As a consultant and trainer for the past 15 years, Gayle has helped teachers throughout the nation learn about technology, the Internet, and creative ways to use both in the classroom. As a researcher and developer for the Minnesota Teacher Network, she works to help other teachers throughout the state communicate and learn online.
Gayle has received numerous recognitions for innovative teaching including Scholastic.com Grade 1-2 Teacher Mentor in 2004, Apple Distinguished Educator in 2001, Classroom Connect's Internet Educator of the Year 2002 — Central Region, Inspiration Software's Scholarship for Visual Learning, the USWest/NEA Minnesota Teacher Network Award, and Becker School District Teacher of the Year.
