Living at the Edge of Two Countries
By Ethan White

I reside in western New York on the Tuscarora Indian Reservation. The area where I live is very special. One of the natural wonders of the world is located here and another country is just a bridge away. New York State also is home to the most exciting city in the world—New York City, known as the crossroads of the world.

Niagara Falls is a very powerful waterfall. It is located between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. It is a huge tourist attraction. A lot of people from all over the world come to my area just to see the falls.

There are plenty of things to do if you come to Niagara Falls. The Cave of the Winds tour takes you down to the waterfall by an elevator that goes through the rocks. The Maid of the Mist is a boat that takes you up close to the Horseshoe Falls. There is also a helicopter ride or a hot-air-balloon ride. Both of these attractions will allow you to have a great view of the falls. I sometimes ride my bike on Goat Island, which is where the falls are located.

Canada is the largest country in North America. Toronto, Canada, is a heavily populated area. I have been to Toronto many times. It is only an hour away from my house. I have been to see the Yankees play in Toronto and in New York. I have been to the Toronto Science Center and the Toronto Zoo.

There are plenty of exciting things in Niagara Falls, Canada. Clifton Hill has a lot of haunted houses and wax museums. One time I got my hand molded in hot wax. My family rode our bikes across the Rainbow Bridge. We had to go on the road with the cars.

I went to New York City with my whole family: grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins. It was so amazing. We only went for three days, but we did a lot of fun stuff. New York City is definitely very exciting and very special. We went to the Empire State Building, Times Square, a Broadway play, the world's largest Toys 'R' Us, and many other places.

I feel that western New York is a very special place to live.
