Am also doing that unit this week with second grade I also use the book Charlie the Caterpillar. it is a good friendship book also. i made butterflies with coffee filters the students colored with different color markers then I sprayed it with water so it would look type dyed and put it in a clothes pin with pipe cleaner s for their antenna. I also read the monarch butterfly by Gail Gibbons.
