Using technology-based programs and sites are very beneficial in improving our students’ literacy strategies, skills and abilities to comprehend texts. It is with activities like these that our students can use the information and understanding from what they have read and transform it into their own creations and ways of thinking. This is a key component of higher level thinking skills. I was wondering if you recommend any other good web activities especially for secondary grade levels that promote literacy skills and higher level thinking abilities? In addition, how would you use Flashlight Readers in a high school setting? Would these students gain knowledge and benefit from completing activities like the comic book creation and/or scrapbook?
