Thanks for the post. I think that the mathematical practices are the part of the Common Core Standards I am most excited about. These practices make math real. In today's technological world, it is just not enough to know the procedure, anyone can look that up on You-tube. Now, a successful math student has to know why it works and how to use it to help society. This is the challenge for all of us as educators to make math REAL. I accept and love the challenge.
