I have used Edmodo for a couple years now. I love it. It allows me to create a Facebook - like atmosphere with my students. I have the so installed on my iPhone , so I can check uploaded assignments anywhere. I can create quizzes for students as well. I can upload videos, Powerpoints and, work for absent students. Or they can go back and review material at their pace. You can even create small groups of students within the group at large. I let students have "chat rooms" so that they can use the main page for work - related postings. The best thing is that students can't send private messages and I get to view and monitor all postings.
