Currently I am modeling this strategy for revisions with memoirs. I totally loved how the modeled piece of writing was used against the checklist. Yes students must be treated as authors, and understand that they have a clear purpose for developing stories with precious moments. Once students take on the role of an actual author, they will write their hearts away!
