I enjoyed seeing your classroom. I teach Bilingual First Grade in Illinois. I was curious if you teach in Spanish at all? Everything in your classroom was in English. I'm curious because I may not teach in Illinois forever... :) Thanks!

Although our students' dominant primary language is Spanish, we do not have bilingual classes. Actually, there are very few across the state. Parents must apply for a waiver and there must be enough to start an actual classroom in a particular school to start and even then, the district must approve it and follow state law. So, in that long answer, no, I do not :( I feel it is really important to communicate with parents and help students clarify in Spanish.

I'd love to hear more about your classroom!
Good luck!
