I give each of my kids a scholastic book to read over the summer as an end-of-the-year gift!. I hope to have points to cover it, but it's a worthy investment even out of my pocket! I also write up an end of year newsletter and include tips to prevent the summer slide, including the link to any summer reading programs that I can find -- TDBank, Scholastic, local libraries, Target, etc.
