Great ideas Victoria (as always!). :-) I'm actually doing a math project as well right now. Except mine is where the kids design their dream home with $500,000. I'm impresses with the thought that they put into the project.
I'm sure you can get carpet scraps from a carpeting store or like a Home Depot or something. They are usually pretty generous if you tell them you're a teacher.
