I love the idea of encouraging parents to communicate with me AND with their child. I have been concerned with getting parents to participate more in their child's learning. I have only been teaching for 5 years, but I know from experience that parent involvement is key to students' success. I am currently using newletters, a webpage, and email to communicate with parents. However, these methods are still more one way (me-to them) than I would prefer. So, I am going to give this idea a try.
