About This Book

Skeet Waters, 11, loves tarpon fishing near his Florida home. He would love to spend his spring break just fishing and relaxing. Things don't go his way, however. First, he overhears his mother telling his father to move out, and then he discovers a dead manatee floating in the water as he cruises in his boat. When he looks closer, he sees that the manatee has been shot through the head. He hurries to get help, but when he returns with the sheriff, the manatee is gone! Skeet is determined to find out what happened and is soon wrapped up in solving a mystery that has some unexpected outcomes!
