Blue sparks are shooting out of Eric's fingers. Cool green and yellow birds are racing out of his backpack. Hamburgers are suddenly flying around the school cafeteria. Yep, it must be time for the kids to return to Droon! But when Eric, Neal, and Julie step off the magic staircase, Galen and Keeah tell them that there's trouble. A magic-mask maker, Hob, has escaped from prison and is up to no good. To stop him, they must travel to the evil city of Tortu, which sits on the back of a giant turtle. Hob sought refuge in Tortu, and is crafting a new mask for Prince Maliban ruler of the turtle city. It is a great mask, an awesome mask. A mask that will give Maliban power over all of Droon. Sounds like a plot that only the evil Lord Sparr could hatch. But he's been missing in action for awhile. Unless Sparr is really Maliban? Can the kids destroy the mask in time? Or will Sparr return to power in his nasty new persona?
