About This Book

Acclaimed author/illustrator Denise Fleming — whose In the Small, Small Pond was named a Caldecott Honor Book — used her own seven cats as models for the frolicking felines in this sweet, simple picture book. Mama Cat does have three kittens, but only two of them, Fluffy and Skinny, follow the leader. As they wash their paws, walk the stone wall, sharpen their claws, chase leaves, and dig in the sand, gently rebellious Boris, the third kitten, naps.
