About This Book

The Pony Pals are excited about a camping trip on the Wiggins estate. Lulu is on her way to meet her friends at the camp site when her pony stops abruptly on the trail. Snow White's hoof is caught in an animal trap designed to catch rabbits and other small animals. Snow White is not harmed, but Lulu is still very concerned. The traps make the trails unsafe for pony riding and endanger all the animals in the woods! The Pony Pals decide that they must find these trappers and let Ms. Wiggins know people are trapping on her land. Watching the trail from behind a bush, the girls wait for the poachers. Two mean-spirited boys from the eighth grade, Tommy Rand and Mike Lacey, show-up to check the traps. The girls have had run-ins with these boys before. The boys call the girls the Pony Pests. Knowing that they need to have proof before they go to Ms. Wiggins, the Pony Pals use Lulu's camera to catch the boys in the act. The boys see the camera's flash and chase the girls. The girls on their ponies know the estate trails must better than the boys on their bikes. The Pony Pals get to Ms. Wiggins first. Ms. Wiggins explains that while she does not allow trapping on her land, she did tell the boys they could ride their bikes on the trails. Ms. Wiggins talks to the boys and finds out that Mike used to trap with his dad and that he needs the money. Ms. Wiggins comes to the rescue with a stable boy job for Mike Lacey. The trails are clear and so once again the Pony Pals can ride safely on Wiggins estate.
