Opening Earth Day, April 22, 2010
Remember last Earth Day when Disneynature released the movie Earth? Well this Earth Day, Disney is following up with the movie Oceans. This amazing documentary is narrated by Pierce Brosnan and gives insight to the mysteries of the underwater world.
It has unbelievable footage of different life forms that depend on the oceans. The movie focuses on various types of whales, dolphins, sharks, eels, sea turtles and, well, too many species to mention here.
The movie explores the world's oceans from beaches to the icy arctic. It explores the very surface of the ocean, down into the deep waters, and along the Australian Coral reefs.
Oceans is not a boring documentary with pretty pictures. It is an entertaining, interesting, and educational movie that will capture your imagination and is a feast for the eyes.
The creatures in the movie have unique abilities and are very fun to watch and learn about. In one remarkable scene, tuna swimming in an enormous school are threatened by sharks, dolphins, whales, and even seagulls, which shoot down into the ocean like missiles to catch their dinner. That scene was just incredible.
These dolphins weren't trained by humans to put on an amazing show. These are wild animals in their natural habitat spinning like tops and doing back flips because that's what they do!
In another amazing scene, two sea creatures fight one another to get access to food. It was an intense battle.
What I loved best about Oceans is that it gives you a glimpse of the talent, skills, and habits of sea creatures that you wouldn't otherwise ever get to see. The scuba divers who went deep into the water were very brave to be swimming next to giant jellyfish and enormous sharks! It was just awesome! They brought back some amazing footage that is a must see this Earth Day.
I highly recommend this fascinating movie for anyone of any age. Words cannot adequately describe the amazing scenes in this movie, so I would suggest that you see it for yourself.
