WRITING: Say What?
Ask students to make-believe that they can overhear a conversation between Little Bear and Boone when the two aren't angry with each other. What would these men say to each other? How would they explain being in Omri's room? Would they talk about Omri and Patrick? How would they bridge the gap between their very different lives and times? Encourage students to write a short conversation that Little Bear and Boone might have. Suggest that they use dialogue balloons and write in the style in which each man speaks. Be sure to invite volunteers to share their dialogues with the class.
