This is it. It is finally here. The last book of The 39 Clues hit bookstores recently, revealing heart-pounding secrets on almost every page. The 39 Clues Book 10: Into the Gauntlet was released on August 31. Award-winning author Margaret Peterson Haddix wrote the electrifying ending which reveals who wins the hunt for the final clue and the Cahill treasure.
The final action occurs in London, England. Dan and Amy Cahill are still in shock over what they learned in the Caribbean, but realize they must get to work immediately on solving the next clue.
Once they get a lead, however, the most absurd thing happens and the lead disappears. Amy and Dan realize that opposing teams will do anything to win the clue hunt: stealing, blackmailing, kidnapping, or even killing. The Cahill siblings refocus their efforts on the clue hunt and get back to business.
As the research progresses, they figure out the reason they are in England — William Shakespeare. To find out more about him, they watch the Bard's famous play Romeo and Juliet at the Globe Theatre. To sum it up, it is pretty much Dan's worst nightmare.
As you may have guessed, the trip to the theater isn't what they expect as they confront their Cahill competitors.
The next clue leads to an old church where Shakespeare was born. As Amy and Dan enter, they realize that all the other competitors are already there searching for the clue. Have Amy and Dan finally been beaten?
Breathtaking moments happen on every page of this final chapter of The 39 Clues. Ian and Natalie Kabra find out the truth about their parents, Jonah Wizard begs an old lady to help him keep his real identity secret, and our good old friends from the first book are right back in the competition, saying that they are probably ahead of the other competitors. In other words, this book has it all.
Who will find the clue? Who will win the hunt? All the answers are here in this book. So what are you waiting for? Get reading!
