The 39 Clues Book 7: The Viper's Nest Booktalk
- Grades: 3–5
About this book
Amy and Dan have to solve the mysteries of a song lyric, a cryptic message from Winston Churchill, and a South African prison, to discover their next clue.
Amy Cahill didn’t believe in omens. But there was black snow falling, her brother was meowing, and her uncle Alistair was dancing around on the beach wearing pink pajamas. It seemed like a nightmare, and she couldn’t wake up. Last night, all three of them had almost burned to death when the house was set on fire. Irina Spasky had saved them, and then had vanished into the flames.
But now the police were coming to investigate, and it was time for everyone to get out of their way, before they could ask a lot of questions no one wanted to answer. So Amy, Dan, Alistair, Nellie, and Saladin are on their way to Jakarta. And it’s time Amy and Dan got some answers from Nellie about the strange email and text messages she’s been getting. They want answers from Alistair too, but they know that’s not going to happen.
They’re off on another adventure, and this time their clue is from Irina’s mysterious last words—“I’m with you and you’re with me,”—part of the lyrics to a song that leads them to South Africa and a perplexing message from Winston Churchill.
