Tour the Mayflower: A First Thanksgiving Activity

From the rigging to the steerage, students get a fascinating look at the famous merchant vessel that brought 102 Pilgrims to America.

Part of the First Thanksgiving project, the interactive “Tour the Ship” activity (grades 3–8) offers students the chance to get a look at the famous ship that brought 102 Pilgrims to America in 1620.

 

Students can click around the merchant vessel for details including where food was prepared, how it was steered, where the captain of the ship slept, and more.  

 

 

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

 

While participating in Scholastic’s "Tour the Mayflower” activity, students learn to:

  • Use technology tools to access, explore, and synthesize information about the Mayflower.
  • Read for detail.
