Science WebQuest Activities
These exciting Web adventures challenge students of various ages to track down the answers to science-related questions.
- Grades: 3–5, 6–8
Scholastic’s “WebQuests: Science” are grade specific, self-guided lessons that encourage students to master technology and science skills as they engage in content-rich Web adventures.
Students choose a topic, straight from Scholastic’s science lab, then conduct guided online research about it and answer a set of questions.
- Amber (grades 3–8) After reviewing the Web sites provided, students gather answers to questions such as: In what way is amber a “window to the past?” Is it actually a gem? What is it? How do scientists believe that amber preserves organisms?
- Glaciers (grades 5–8) How is a glacier formed? How are they dangerous? Students get a better understanding of geological science and the development of landforms while finding the answers to these questions and more.
