Journey Into Space: A Science Exploration
- Grades: 3–5, 6–8, 9–12
Journey into Space gives context to the concept of gravity. It also introduces students to Michael Shara, an astrophysicist at the American Museum of Natural History and the guide for this Science Exploration.
Activities for grades 3–6:
- Moon Olympics—Predict what it would be like to play sports on the moon and then experience the results.
- Investigate —Use facts and illustrations to examine the planets in our solar system.
Activities for grades 6–10:
- Activate Asteroids! —Experiment with speed and angle to direct the course of an asteroid.
- Investigate —Check out photos, artists’ renderings, articles, and simulations and discover what’s created when space objects collide.
