Students choose presidential advisors, balance the national budget, and defend their choices while playing this fun interactive activity.

Scholastic’s "If You Were President" interactive activity teaches students some of the important decisions that presidents make in a fun, engaging way. Students imagine themselves as the president, then must choose their top advisors and balance the national budget by indicating what percentage goes to what program: education, environment, military, health care, and crime prevention. Finally, they must defend their choices to the press in written statements.
