This reading activity features text, audio, and photos. Early readers will learn what weather watchers do and how they help people.

“Ask a Weather Watcher” (grade 1) – a brief Listen and Read nonfiction story – shares answers from weather watchers about what they do, the tools they use, and why their work is so important. The reading activity includes text, images, and audio, so students can read along while listening to a narrator.
At the end of the story, a Sound It Out section lets students listen to these vocabulary words a second time: "weather," "computer," "thermometer," and "picnic."
