1. Theo Chocolate (Seattle, WA) A dream come true for Willy Wonka fans. Learn about the history and ecology of cacao farming as you watch the process of turning beans into chocolate bars. Plenty of samples! Recommended for ages 7 and up; $6 per person.
2. Natick Community Organic Farm (Natick, MA) Through the month of March, you can see the New England tradition of maple syrup production in action. Sip sap while it drips into the bucket, watch it boiling into syrup in the sugar shack, and more; $6 per person.
3. Loleta Cheese Factory (Loleta, CA) It’s not uncommon to get a tour from the owner himself, Bob Laffranchi, at this family-run shop that makes more than 34 types of cheese, each of which you’re more than welcome to taste.
4. Aloha Organic Fruit (Palisade, CO) Sweet peaches, stunning mountain views, and a farm shop full of tasty delights welcome your family. On the tour, you’ll get an inside look at organic farming and peach packing.
