100 Greatest Books for Kids
Welcome to the resource center for Scholastic Parent & Child magazine’s 100 Greatest Books for Kids.
In conjunction with our March issue all about reading and literacy, we counted down the 100 greatest books for kids as chosen by us, the editors of Parent & Child. From early December through mid-February, we revealed 10 books per week on our interactive bookshelf.

- Information on our book categories, including fiction, nonfiction, and award-winners
- The different age groupings, and ways you can engage your children in the world of literacy (Quick Guide: see ages 0-3 >> ages 4-7 >> ages 8-10 >> ages 11+)
- 4 burning questions about literacy
- Return to the bookshelf to keep exploring!
