Tony Hawk is skate boarding’s primary icon. As a world champion, his physical skill and dazzling artistry have left fans in slack-jawed awe ever since he turned pro at age 14. Tony’s talents have brought a level of attention to and respect for skateboarding, which in turn, has helped legitimize all action sports. His best-selling book, Hawk: Occupation Skateboarder helped fuel the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater video game series which continues to win awards and break sales records worldwide. A book on his success story was published by Wiley in 2010 entitled How Did I Get Here? The Ascent of an Unlikely CEO. His latest game, Tony Hawk: SHRED released in October 2010. Hawk currently guest appears on television, films while hosting his own show on satellite radio. Today, he continues donating to over 450 skateboard projects through his Tony Hawk Foundation, tours throughout the country featuring other extreme sports athlete, and manages a clothing line and his skateboard company, Birdhouse Projects. Tony lives, works and rides in San Diego with his wife and four children.
