A Bookprint is the list of five books that leave an indelible mark on our lives, shaping who we are and who we become.
You are what you read.
Australian author and illustrator Shaun Tan received an Academy Award® for Best Short Film (Animated) for his film “The Lost Thing” based on his picture book of the same name and is the 2011 recipient of the Astrid Lindgren Award, the world’s largest award in children’s literature. He is the internationally acclaimed author and illustrator of the award-winning Tales from Outer Suburbia and the New York Times bestseller The Arrival. Tan has twice won the World Fantasy Award and his books have been recognized over and over again—receiving a New York Times Best Illustrated Children’s Book Award, a Parent’s Choice Gold Award, named to Metropolitan Home Magazine’s “Design 100,” and multiple “Best Books” lists.
Lost & Found: Three by Shaun Tan contains three beloved stories originally published in Australia as individual books and never widely available in the U.S. For the first time The Lost Thing, The Red Tree, and the John Marsden classic The Rabbits are presented in their entirety with additional new artwork and author’s notes. Together they tell a moving tale about how we lose and find what matters to us most.
Shaun’s newest title, The Bird King, will be released by Scholastic in Spring 2013.
