NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. BY PARTICIPATING IN THE SWEEPSTAKES, PARTICIPANTS AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE OFFICIAL RULES AND THE DECISIONS OF SCHOLASTIC INC. ("SPONSOR"), WHICH SHALL BE FINAL AND BINDING IN ALL RESPECTS.
ELIGIBILITY. The Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are at least 18 years of age and have a valid email address as of July 25, 2012. Employees of Sponsor, GOJO Industries, Inc. ("GOJO") and their immediate families are not eligible. The Sweepstakes is void outside the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, or where otherwise prohibited by law.
TO ENTER: Log on to scholastic.com/purell (the "Web Site") between 12:00:01 a.m. ET on 7/25/12 and 11:59:59 p.m. ET on 9/30/12 (the "Promotion Period") and follow the instructions posted on screen to enter. All entries must be received and recorded during the Promotion Period to be eligible for a drawing. Submission by facsimile or any other means is not permitted. Limit one Sweepstakes entry per person/e-mail address. Each person may only use one e-mail address to participate in this Sweepstakes, and such e-mail address may only be used by one person regardless of whether the e-mail address is shared by two or more people. Any participant who uses more than one e-mail address to enter this Sweepstakes may be disqualified and any prizes won may be forfeited subject to Sponsor’s sole discretion. Proof that winner is the authorized e-mail account holder may be required. Ten winners will be selected on or about 10/15/12, from among all eligible entries received during the entire Promotion Period. The drawing(s) for the winners will be conducted by Scholastic whose decisions shall be final in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Winner may not substitute, assign or transfer prize. Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received. Limit one (1) prize per person/household/email address.
In case of a dispute over an online participant’s identity, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address used to enter will be deemed to be the participant. The term "authorized account holder," as used herein, means the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Sponsor and GOJO reserve the right to alter, suspend or terminate the Sweepstakes without notice if, in the Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion, the Web Site or Sweepstakes is compromised in any way. Sponsor and GOJO shall not be responsible for transmission defaults, computer server failure and/or delayed, garbled or corrupted data transmitted by participants. Sponsor and GOJO shall not be responsible for printing or typographical errors in any Sweepstakes-related materials. All entries are the sole property of Sponsor. Any information collected by registering to enter the Sweepstakes will be used in a manner consistent with Sponsor’s privacy policy, which can be found here: http://www.scholastic.com/privacy.htm. Entrants acknowledge that the entries, including any personally identifiable information contained therein, will be provided to Scholastic and GOJO. Entrants understand that this information may be used by Scholastic or GOJO to contact Entrant in the future for purpose of administering the Sweepstakes or with Entrant’s specific consent for other promotions about PURELL® in accordance with the online privacy policy found at www.purell.com/customer-support/privacy-policy.aspx. By entering the Sweepstakes, Entrant agrees to such use of any information provided in an Entry. All Sweepstakes entries must be completed by 11:59:59 a.m. ET on 9/30/12.
PRIZES/ODDS: Ten (10) winners will receive a two hundred and fifty dollar ($250) back-to-school shopping spree, twenty-five (25) Scholastic books, and PURELL product package including two (2) 8 oz product—Regular Advanced and Spongebob, three (3) JELLY WRAP™ Carriers –Regular, Spongebob, and Ocean kiss, and three (3) backups—Regular, Spongebob, and Ocean kiss (approximately $17.82) The approximate retail value ("ARV") of each prize is $417.82. The total ARV of all prizes is $4,178.20).
GENERAL PRIZE CONDITIONS / PRIZE CLAIMS: You are not a winner of any prize unless and until your eligibility is confirmed. Potential winners will be notified at the phone number, email address or physical address submitted on the online entry account and may be required to complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release within ten (10) days. Documents must be returned by the means specified in the specific document within the time specified or the potential prize winner will be disqualified. All claimed prizes by persons who are found eligible will be awarded to those persons. No substitution, assignment or transfer of any prizes will be permitted, except at the sole discretion of Sponsor, who reserves the right to substitute a prize or prize component with cash or another prize of comparable or greater value. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the Promotion Period following winner validation on or about November 26, 2012. Please allow approximately four (4) to six (6) weeks for delivery of prizes. All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of each prize winner. Sponsor is not responsible for inability of any winner to accept a prize in accordance with these full Official Rules. Return of any prize as undeliverable will result in disqualification. By entering, participants and potential winners grant to Sponsor and GOJO the right to use his/her name, photograph, voice recording, information provided and likeness in any media now or hereafter known for advertising, promotion and/or other purposes throughout the world without additional compensation or notification to, or permission of the participant, except as prohibited by law. Prize will be forfeited if (a) attempted notification is returned as undeliverable, (b) potential winner cannot be verified or is deemed ineligible, (c) any mail or prize is returned to Sponsor or GOJO as undeliverable mail without a forwarding address, or (d) winner is otherwise unable to accept the prize as stated. If prize is forfeited for any reason, Sponsor reserves the right to award to an alternate potential winner selected in a random drawing from among the remaining eligible entries. If any required documents are not returned within the required number of days, the prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Subject to all applicable laws.
SPECIAL SWEEPSTAKES LIMITATION: Any attempts by an individual to access the Web Site using a bot script or other brute-force attack will result in that e-mail address becoming ineligible. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to cancel or modify the Sweepstakes without notice or liability if the Web Site becomes infected with a virus, technically corrupt, or otherwise cannot operate as planned. Sponsor, GOJO and their affiliates, subsidiaries, parents, employees, representatives and agents assume no responsibility for any loss or damage to participants’ or to any other person’s computer relating to, or resulting from, entering or downloading any information or software in connection with the Sweepstakes. Sponsor, GOJO and their affiliates, subsidiaries, parents, employees, representatives and agents are not responsible for technical, hardware, software or telephone/Internet malfunctions of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, incomplete, inaccurate, garbled or delayed electronic communications caused by the user, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes, or by any human or other errors that may occur in connection with the Sweepstakes. If any of the foregoing malfunctions, errors, fraud, unauthorized intervention or defects render the Sweepstakes incapable of operating as planned or corrupt the integrity, affect the administration, security, or fairness of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor, at its sole discretion, may suspend or cancel the Sweepstakes immediately. If a technical error or the like occurs that results in more potential winners than available prizes for a particular prize level, Sponsor may elect to hold a random drawing from all eligible claims received to award the number of prizes for the level of prize in dispute which have not yet been awarded. Any use of micro, automatic, programmed, robotic, or like entry methods will void all such entries by such methods, and participants using such methods will be disqualified. Sponsor further reserves the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process. Sponsor may prohibit a participant from participating in the Sweepstakes if it determines that said participant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes by cheating, hacking, deception or other unfair playing practices or intending to abuse, threaten or harass other participants. Any attempt by a participant or any other individual to deliberately damage, interfere with, or undermine the legitimate operation of this Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and/or civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY: Except where prohibited, by participating in the Sweepstakes, you agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsor, GOJO and their affiliates, subsidiaries, parents, officers, directors, employees, representatives, agents, licensees and assigns from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Sweepstakes or receipt or use of any prize, including, but not limited to: (a) unauthorized human intervention in the Sweepstakes; (b) technical errors or interruptions related to computers, software, servers, or telephone or network lines; (c) printing or typographical errors; (d) errors in the administration of the Sweepstakes or the processing of entries; (e) late, lost or undeliverable mail, e-mail or shipments; or (f) injury or damage to persons or property that may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from your participation in the Sweepstakes, or receipt or use of a prize (including travel).

GOVERNING LAW & DISPUTE RESOLUTION: All controversies regarding the Sweepstakes shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Ohio, without giving effect to any choice of law rules or provisions. For any controversy or claim that arises regarding the Sweepstakes and that is not resolved through negotiation, Sponsor and participant agree to resolve such controversy or claim through binding arbitration in Akron, OH, in accordance with the then current Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association, and judgment on any award made by the arbitrator may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof. Any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the Sweepstakes, but in no event attorney's fees. Under no circumstances will a participant be permitted to obtain any award for, and participant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages.
