Winning Valentines get displayed for kids and teachers
on FB and Pinterest—along with cash prizes.
It’s a fun, easy, super-engaging way to utilize the strengths and
talents of your whole classroom.
Here’s how it works:
Simply use this activity sheet for inspiration and
ask
your kids to create the ULTIMATE VALENTINE’S
DAY VALENTINE. Each student can make their
own Valentine—and then you can put them all
together in one gigantic collage of fun… OR…you
can ask them to collaborate on One Big Valentine
right at the beginning.
When you’re done creating the Ultimate Valentine’s Day Valentine, email a
jpeg of your Valentine’s craft to TeachingResources@scholastic.com. Please include
your full name, school, and in your email. The subject line should read: Entry:
Ultimate Valentine’s Day Valentine Contest. Be Original, creative and remember
this should be a whole class effort!

Scholastic’s Official Ultimate Valentine’s Day Valentine Contest
Who: You & Your Students
What: A Valentine’s Day Contest designed to get students thinking and collaborating creatively to design the ULTIMATE Valentine.
Where: In your classroom. Simply download the attached Scholastic printable and get creative! (We will
accept either a single giant jumbo Valentine upon which all your students collaborate OR you can affix each student’s individual Valentine together to create a collage.)
When: Entries must be received by Feb 7, 2014.
How: Send one jpeg of the completed Valentine to
TeachingResources@scholastic.com. The subject
line must read “Entry: Ultimate Valentine’s Day Valentine Contest.” Please include name, school and
the title of your project.

1st prize: $100 and featured in Scholastic Teacher’s Facebook page, Printables
