TOM SNYDER PRODUCTIONS ANNOUNCES NEW FASTT MATH® ENTERPRISE EDITION

Watertown, MA (November 26, 2007) -- Tom Snyder Productions, a Scholastic company, has released the Enterprise Edition of its popular FASTT Math® program, the successful software program that improves math fact fluency in just 10 minutes per day.  FASTT Math Enterprise Edition now provides enhanced reporting capabilities for teachers and administrators, including district-wide reporting and data export through SAM, the Scholastic Achievement Manager.  The robust management system dashboard supports data-driven instruction and AYP accountability requirements.  For students in grades 2 and higher, the new FASTT Math offers an improved experience with more games and downloadable worksheets for personalized practice.

Developed by Dr. Ted Hasselbring, the creator of the reading intervention program READ 180®, FASTT Math has been successfully implemented by a growing number of school districts across the country. The program automatically differentiates instruction and practice based on each student's individual fluency gaps in customized 10-minute daily sessions.  Highly motivating for students with its targeted lessons and engaging games, FASTT Math also benefits teachers with its flexible implementation model and comprehensive management system.

According to Dr. Hasselbring, "Too many students struggle with math fact fluency but mask it.  FASTT Math can pinpoint exactly where a student is having the most difficulty and provide an intervention that works.  Students are gaining fluency and confidence in math, something they thought they'd never have."

“The response to this program has been very strong, affirming that schools everywhere understand the importance of fluency in recall of math facts,” said Margery Mayer, President, Scholastic Education.  “We developed the Enterprise Edition to fit the needs of school districts with larger implementations.  The new system is based on the same effective research foundation, but with a more robust and powerful district management system."

FASTT Math’s new data management system, the Scholastic Achievement Manager (SAM), is also used in Scholastic’s reading technology programs READ 180 and ReadAbout®.  Now teachers and administrators who use FASTT Math and READ 180 or ReadAbout can aggregate data from Scholastic’s math and reading programs together and provide customized reports, for individual students as well as across the district.
