Your Beating Heart

Your child may not be able to see his heart, but unlike most of his (or your!) internal organs, he can feel it working! Show him how by asking him to place his hand on his chest. This might work best after he’s been running around. Point out how noticeable the ba-bump, ba-bump is. Then ask him to breathe slowly, and feel how his heartbeat becomes slower and gentler.
