To prepare your child for the writing she will do, let her see how often you use writing in your life. Make it a normal part of your day with her, rather than saving your paperwork for after she’s in bed. The idea is to demonstrate that writing is part of everyday life. Try asking her if she’d like to “help” by writing on an empty envelope.
