Who Wants To Make a Cup of Snot?

Help your tween with this snot-making experiment. First, fill ½ C with boiling water. Add 3 tsp. of gelatin to the boiling water. Let it soften, then stir with a fork. Add ¼ C corn syrup. Stir it again and have him take a peek at what emerges. The strands are protein strands, and have the same sticky, stretchy properties as the stuff in his nose! Yuck!
