What's a "Variation Set"?

What language development experts call a “variation set” is simply the name for those times you utter several sentences that convey the same context and meaning, with variation. Here’s an example: “Jamie, can you get the book? Bring the book to Daddy, Jamie! Oh, good boy, you gave Daddy the book.” Doing so helps cement the meaning of the sentence, and the words in them
