A Verbal Category Game

Here’s a fun brain-teasing, vocabulary-building, listening-skill-honing game: Categories. Give your child a list of items in a category, and see if he can name what that category is. For instance, “sock, shirt, shoes, hat, jacket…” and see if he comes up with “clothes” or “things I wear.” Or challenge him with a category (foods, stuff in the backyard) and see how many items he can think of that fit.
