Use Technology to Communicate Stories

Publishing is part of the writing process. From the very beginning of a writing assignment, it's important for your child to know that what she's creating will be shared with others. You can support this by allowing her to publish her work using various forms of technology. For example, you could create a kid-friendly blog where she can post stories for relatives who live out of state to read, or you could share some of her work through your own social media accounts. As long as you're actively involved in what's being posted — and where — publishing her work for a broader audience could become a powerful motivator.
