Use Receipts to Practice Calculator Skills

Sit down with your child, a calculator, and some receipts. Explain how tax is calculated in your state and demonstrate using the calculator to add the purchases together and determine the tax. Give your child the task of using the calculator and a sheet of paper to check that the merchants charged the correct amount of tax for each purchase.
