Use Math Skills When You Go to Dinner

The next time you go out to dinner as a family, ask your child to help calculate the bill. Once everyone chooses an entrée, have your child estimate the total cost, based on the prices listed in the menu. When the bill arrives, compare her estimate to the actual total. Then, teach her how you determine how much tip to leave the server.
