Understand Your Child's Long-Range Academic Goals

At the beginning of the school year, speak with your child's teacher about the concepts she plans to cover during the school year. If possible, ask her for the core curriculum content standards she expects to teach this marking period. Having a sense of the full picture will help you work with your child at home on any areas that need to be strengthened.
