Turn Trick-or-Treating Into a Learning Opportunity

This Halloween, make your trick-or-treating experience extra sweet by including some easy learning opportunities. You can boost math skills by working on counting: counting steps aloud as you walk, counting pieces of candy as they fall into your child’s bucket, counting different costumes that you come across along your route. Help your child explore different senses by asking her to shake the bucket and hear the noise it makes, crinkle the candy wrappers, or hear all the spooky sounds as you walk.
