Teach Estimation and Measurement Around the House

Help your child practice estimating and measuring around the house. Write down ten household items that your child can carry, such as a pencil, a phone, or a shoe. As your child collects the items, have her estimate the length of each item and record her estimate on the paper. Let her measure them with a ruler and compare her estimates to each item's actual size.
